Technology Should Help You Feel More Independent

Technology is now part of everyday life, but it can be difficult to use when instructions move too quickly, assume prior knowledge or are not adapted to the way you learn.

Blue Ring Marketing provides personalised digital skills training to help participants use everyday technology with greater confidence, safety and independence.

Sessions are practical, supportive and adapted to the individual. We focus on helping participants understand and complete tasks themselves, rather than simply doing everything for them.

No previous technology experience is required. Participants can begin with the basics or focus on particular skills they would like to develop.

What Would You Like to Learn?

Email and Online Communication

Learn how to send and organise emails, add attachments, manage contacts, recognise suspicious messages and communicate confidently online.

Online Safety and Scam Awareness

Learn how to recognise scams, phishing emails, unsafe links and suspicious websites. Understand passwords, privacy settings and two-factor authentication.

Phones, Tablets and Computers

Build confidence using everyday devices, including navigation, accessibility settings, applications, photographs, files and common device features.

Canva and Digital Creativity

Learn how to use Canva to create invitations, social posts, presentations, simple documents and creative projects connected with personal, community, study or employment goals.

Online Services and Everyday Tasks

Develop the skills needed to complete online forms, attend video appointments, organise digital documents and safely access important online services.

Skills for Work, Study and Community

Learn practical digital skills that may support volunteering, further education, employment, a microbusiness or greater participation in the community.

Training is personalised to each participant. The skills covered will depend on the participant's goals, abilities, interests and available funding.

Who Is This Support For?

Digital skills training may be suitable for a participant who would like to become more confident and independent when using technology.

  • People who find computers, phones or online services confusing
  • Participants who benefit from patient, repeated or step-by-step instruction
  • People who want to recognise online scams and protect their personal information
  • Participants working towards greater independence
  • People developing skills for employment, study, volunteering or community participation
  • Participants who want to communicate more confidently with family, services or support networks
  • People who want to explore creative digital tools such as Canva

Each person learns differently. Sessions can be slowed down, repeated and adapted to suit the participant's preferred way of learning.

How Digital Skills Support Works

  1. Tell Us What You Would Like Help With

Complete the short enquiry form and tell us what technology skills the participant would like to develop.

  2. Discuss Goals and Funding

We will discuss the participant’s goals, preferred learning style, funding management and whether the proposed support is suitable.

  3. Create a Personalised Learning Plan

Sessions will focus on practical skills that are relevant to the participant’s everyday life, independence and individual goals.

  4. Learn Through Practical Sessions

The participant receives patient, step-by-step guidance and opportunities to practise each task. Progress and future learning priorities can be documented after sessions.

Your Privacy and Independence Matter

Digital support can involve personal devices and private information. Sessions are delivered with respect for the participant's privacy, choices and independence.

The purpose of the service is to teach participants how to manage their own technology wherever possible.

We do not retain participant passwords or login details.

We explain tasks before making changes to a device or account.

Participants remain involved and in control throughout each session.

Practical Guidance From an Experienced Digital Professional

Digital skills sessions are delivered by Shanley, founder of Blue Ring Marketing.

Shanley has extensive practical experience helping people use websites, email, online platforms, digital tools and technology. She is known for explaining technical tasks in clear, manageable steps without assuming that someone already understands the terminology.

The focus is not on rushing through a set course. It is about meeting the participant where they are, understanding what they would like to achieve and helping them build useful skills at a comfortable pace.

Using NDIS Funding for Digital Skills Training

Blue Ring Marketing is an unregistered service provider. This service is available to participants with self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding.

Digital skills training may be suitable where the support is related to the participant's disability, individual goals, independence and available support budget.

Funding availability is different for every participant. Participants, nominees or support coordinators should confirm that the service is appropriate for the participant's plan before sessions begin.

Self-managed participants

Invoices can be sent directly to the participant or their nominated representative.

Plan-managed participants

Invoices can be sent to the participant’s plan manager after the service and funding arrangements have been confirmed.

NDIA-managed participants

Blue Ring Marketing cannot currently claim directly from NDIA-managed funding because it is not a registered NDIS provider.

Receiving NDIS funding does not automatically mean this service can be claimed. The support must be appropriate for the participant's disability, goals, plan and available funding.

Flexible, Personalised Sessions

Individual sessions can be delivered online, allowing participants to learn using their own computer, tablet or device in a familiar environment.

In-person availability can be discussed during the initial enquiry.

Rates, session duration, payment arrangements and cancellation terms will be clearly explained and agreed upon before services begin. Where NDIS price limits apply, charges will remain within the applicable current limits.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Blue Ring Marketing is an unregistered service provider. This means the service is currently available to participants whose relevant funding is self-managed or plan-managed.
