The Beary Fuzzy Family
Beary Fuzzy Forever Rescue is a not-for-profit registered charity located in Melbourne, made up of a team of dedicated animal lovers who are passionate about animal welfare.
It began with Bear — a palliative-care cat who became the soulmate of founder Kathryn Roberts. Although Bear's time was heartbreakingly short, he opened up a whole heart to helping other cats with complex medical needs. In March 2021, Beary Fuzzy Forever Rescue was formed in Bear's honour, so that animals in need could be given a second chance at a life full of love and the best veterinary care.

Our Mission & Values
BFFR's mission is to be a voice and advocate for the health and wellbeing of those most in need of finding a loving forever home. They take in animals that were abandoned, neglected, or find themselves without a home — often sick and in desperate need of a better life.
- •Every animal deserves love. BFFR does not discriminate between young and old, pregnant or sick.
- •Specialist care for the hardest cases. Special focus on disabled animals and those with complex medical or behavioural needs that struggle to find homes.
- •Highest vet standards. Every animal is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped with amazing veterinary clinics across Melbourne.
- •A real community. Ongoing support and advice for every foster carer and adopter, so no one feels alone.
